F.A.Q.s

Why would I want this product?

Sitting on an exercise bike or elliptical machine is boring as hell, so there is a temptation to watch a movie/show or play a computer game while you are doing it.  But when it gets interesting or exciting, your tendency is to slow to a crawl and not put the effort in.  LumenMill keeps you honest by forcing you to keep the effort up if you want to keep watching or playing.

I’ve decided that I hate cardio and want to stop, but now my screen is all static and I can’t control anything.  What do?

If you select the Preview window, you can click anywhere to bring the menu up and turn off the video, or just close the preview window and everything should shut down.

Which heart rate monitor should I buy?

Any dedicated bluetooth low energy heart rate monitor should work.  All of the chest-mounted ones that I have tried have worked.  Bear in mind that they work on conduction, so you might need to moisten the pads either side of the electronics unit to wake it up unless you are already sweaty.  The arm-mounted ones connect ok, but sometimes send wrong measurements.  I haven’t had any luck with FitBit devices.  If you work for Google, contact me and tell me what I’m doing wrong.

What exercise equipment is the best?

I like a recumbent bike so I can play video games.  I made one out of an old spin bike and an adjustable weight bench link to ISE_

What if I pedal too hard and my heart explodes?

That’s on you.  It is your responsibility to manage your own effort.  Always consult a doctor before doing anything.

Keep in mind that heart rate monitors may lose connection so the heart rate display could be out of date at any point.

Does LumenMill have any spyware or malware?

No.  LumenMill doesn’t even connect to the internet

What about in-app purchases?

I don’t even know how to do that.
